This week marks a significant milestone for “Afro-Future Rising” as I’m expecting to receive the first 3D character model by the end of the week.
The work in progress shots look absolutely stunning, and I can barely contain my excitement to see the final result.
It’s a pivotal moment that brings the game one step closer to reality, and I’m thrilled to share this journey with you.
Deep Dive into Unreal Engine
My exploration of Unreal Engine continues. Each day is a new learning experience, unraveling the vast capabilities of this powerful tool.
From mastering the basics to experimenting with advanced features, Unreal Engine never ceases to amaze me with its possibilities. The more I learn, the more I’m able to translate my vision into tangible elements within the game.
Next on the Agenda: Level Design for the Demo
Looking ahead, my next big task is to define the level design for the demo’s solo adventure mission. This mission will be a microcosm of the game’s dual nature, blending action-packed MOBA-style gameplay with strategic 4X elements.
Here’s a sneak peek into what I’m planning:
Micro Mission: Players will engage in classic MOBA gameplay – farming creeps, taking objectives, and capturing outposts. This will be the heart of the action, where players can experience the thrill of combat and strategic planning on a smaller scale.
Macro Mission: The macro aspect comes into play as players strive to capture three outposts on a micro level to gain control of a district on the macro scale. This part of the mission will showcase the game’s 4X strategy style, where larger tactical decisions and resource management become crucial.
Blending MOBA with 4X
This demo level is designed to give players a taste of “Afro-Future Rising”‘s unique genre fusion.
The balance between fast-paced MOBA action and thoughtful 4X strategy is what sets this game apart, and I can’t wait to see how players react to this innovative gameplay blend.
